ATC365 #210 MASK

Where is the summer?

This time last year we were experiencing the 'hottest July on record' I seem to remember!

Oh how different things are this year.

ATC365 #209 DANCE!

Oh boy! Did I ever dance in the moonlight on Saturday night!

I just don't understand how anyone could sit still for long!

Bellowhead are not a band to sit and listen to....no sir, no way!

Anyway, back to the blog post.

This hare  is one of my own hand carved stamps.

Also, here's a little Bellowhead for you to enjoy!

ATC365 #208 LITTLE FRUITS

Sorry if the picture looks a bit blurred.

Probably because it is blurred!

My 'proper' camera has been playing up recently and so I have reverted to the mini stand in.

Not so good but at least I have a plan B.

The stamp is one of my own carved rubber ones.

The phrase 'pleasant little fruits' is part of a line from a
Seth Lakeman song, Cherry Red Girl
One of my favourites!

Welcome to this garden girl
Cold is the rose where the white lilies blow
A heavenly paradise place
Where all the pleasant little fruits do grow

Here are lovers they lie down

For the night
'til cherry red their hearts are burning bright

Marvellous Monday with Visible Image

Today I am showcasing a lovely stamp from Visible Image which I have used to create a little 'magic' wallet as well as a small book.

The idea came to me when I was making the first sample, a little folded book. It was the moment when I was threading string through it that made me remember the little magic wallet that I had kept from a Christmas cracker.

So, the original piece is just a piece of card coloured with Brusho paints in green, yellow and orange. I cut things to size and then using the opposite colour, stamped the words with black embossing powder. I used eyelets to attach things.

The magic wallet is a simple construction of board and ribbon. I will try and upload a video of the way this works later. Again I used Brusho coloured card and black embossing powder with the addition of the great orbital stamp from the Universal set.

MARVELLOUS MONDAY with VISIBLE IMAGE

Oh what a glorious weekend it has been!

Sun, sea and sand by the bucket load, thank you Mr Weather!

Today I am showcasing a collection of cards I made using only Visible Image stamps.

I wanted to make a group of cards suitable to be given as a gift set and so I set about making several background papers first.

In my palette there was a lot of blue/green/purple Brusho paint which needed using up. I looked in my envelope drawer and found some blue envelopes which were the right size for my plans.

I don't often use white embossing powder but with the intense colour of the background paper I ended up with it seemed the perfect one to use.

For those that know how good Visible Image stamps are I don't need to tell you how deeply etched they are, how perfectly they stamp every time and just what fab designs there are!

For those of you who are new to Visible Image, er, just re-read the above!

As I said, I started by  making the background papers. I had great fun smooshing colour over some good quality white card stock. I use Brusho powder as a wet paint and just leave it to dry.

Next I used a dark blue ink to add the circles from the Universal set all over but not overlapping. Once this was completely dry I started adding the white embossed dotty-circles, again from the Universal set and also the larger one from the Plasma set.

The sentiments, which are from the Express Yourself range, were stamped onto card with none of the extra stamping on. It allows the words to stand while still being a perfect colour match.

All the elements were cut and mounted onto white card before being added to the blue card bases. The sentiment pieces were mounted using a dimensional glue to raise them from the page.

I know this is a stamp heavy project, but if you have these sets not only do you get great value for money, but you can also create a huge number of projects using different combinations of the stamps!

ATC365 #196 PLANTING DREAMS

Road trip today to Llanelli, beautiful drive, wonderful weather and stunning scenery!

Quick make using a piece of vellum over a very badly painted rose!

....and the setting on my camera is still not doing what I want it to!

Factory reset seems in order.

ATC365 #195 PEAR

Found a lovely piece of green card today which said 'pear' to me.

Honest, it did!

Not sure what setting my camera was on when I took the picture but it really is pear green and not limey yellow!

Marvellous Monday with Visible Image

Hello! And welcome to the start of the week!

Tin Man
Tweedle Twins

Today I am showcasing 2 cards I made using the really wonderful Robot stamp from Visible Image.

You might already know that I 'don't do characters' but once again Visible Image have designed a stamp that has drawn me out of my normal choice.

Think back to their fab Tin Man and those pesky little Tweedle Twins, you can see why I picked the Robot Data set.

The first card I made uses the brilliant accessory stamps along with the Robot. I used Brusho paints for the background and the robot. I also used Diamond Glaze on the Robot to give him extra shine. I used water to draw some of the colour off the Brusho background.

The second card I made came after an idea I had one sleepless night! I have some of my best ideas during the night, insomnia is a devil sometimes. I had been thinking about these new release stamps and when I finally closed my eyes I saw rows and rows of Robots. Took some time cutting out the masks but I think the result is quite good even if it is maybe a little bit menacing!
