ATC365 #90 CHOP

Quick post today.

The heating that is being replaced is still not functioning yet after 2 days of work!

Hot water bottle going cold so heading off to bed early.

So, the word today is CHOP.

I instantly thought of those little additional characters that they use on Oriental art and documents.
They aren't always dimensional like a wax seal, sometimes they are just a stamped character usually in red.

Back tomorrow, heating finished hopefully.

ATC365 #89 CONTRAST

Oh I am bloomin' cold!

Heating being replaced so not hot water or central heating today and probably tomorrow.

Brrrrrr.

So when the word

CONTRAST

came up I felt the need to make something warm and fiery.

I hope this hits the mark?

Bit of a poor photo, sorry. Something to do with where the light is coming from. My craft room is all over the place at the moment.
I had to move some cupboards out of the way so Mr Heater could get to the radiator.

Hopefully I might have some heating tomorrow!

If not you will find me sitting on top of the log burner in the pub over the road!

Marvellous Monday with Visible Image!

Hello followers! And a warm welcome to any new visitors.

Today I am showcasing one of the
 incredibly versatile stamps from the
Visible Image EXPRESS YOURSELF range.
This one is from the This is Me set.

I have used an embossing folder on this one with a bark effect.

Started as always by creating the background. This involved Brusho, when doesn't it these days? I used a little of the powder colour mixed with a little water and painted it onto a good quality watercolour card. When it was dry I used the tip only of a broad flat headed brush to add little strands of orange and green. It reminds me of saffron in a way.

I then passed the dry piece of card through the embosser using a tree bark texture plate. Afterwards I swiped a clear embossing ink over the raised areas and embossed using clear powder. It makes the texture show up more.

In keeping with the texture on the background I used a little corrugated strip with a faux buckle to add interest.

The sentiment was stamped on piece of card which had been coloured with the same shades of Brusho but in an ombre way which was then splashed with water.

ATC365 #88 SYNONYM

Woah! I had to check that one!

SYNONYM

Thanks Google!

Right, bit of an open theme really so I went with
a theme for which I had some small word stamps.
I went with PARTY as my word.

This ATC features the great silhouette of a trumpet player which is from Visible Image

All caught up now after the mishap yesterday!

I went to Nant-y-Moch and got engrossed in the scenery.

 Didn't get home till late
and then slept like a log with all the walking!

Right, need to make up for the lost hour, still tired.

ATC365 #87 A DAY LATE

Hands up, I admit it, I missed the ATC for yesterday but I had a very good reason for the absence.

Anyway, here it is and I hope to be back on track later today.

The words are a sort of explanation of what happened yesterday without going into too much detail.

Sometimes it is nice to be able to run away from all your fears and troubles and just be somewhere safe so you can escape.

ATC365 #85 TOMORROW

Did you see what happened yesterday?

I only just noticed it myself!

My ATC had the number 84 and so did the Moo Mania & More challenge!

Spooooky eh?

Here is the ATC for today, with the word from Mr Generator being

TOMORROW.

And on that note, I hope to see you again tomorrow for another in this series.

Happy Days!

ATC365 #84 RED

A bold ATC today, the word I was presented with was

RED

I have used all Visible Image stamps on this one as that was the box that was on my desk!

Moo Mania & More # 84 EGGS

Another new challenge over at Moo Mania & More.

The theme this time is EGGS.

I have made 3 Moos this time all with eggs on.
I got carried away stamping the eggs out!

I don't often use white embossing powder
but here it works well because the background is quite dark.

I hope this has inspired you to have a go at making something egg related for the challenge this time?

I look forward to seeing all the lovely entries.

ATC365 #83 POETRY

Such a late night and a long day!
Still managed to get this done though!
Feeling very pleased with myself.

Today the word is

POETRY

Love this little quote stamp from Creative Expressions.
I think it is a Sam Poole stamp actually.

The books are Sheena Douglass.

Aiming for a good night of sleep so hit publish and I'm off!

More tomorrow!

Marvellous Monday with Visible Image

Hello! Well, I don't know what it was like for you over the weekend but it was bloomin' lovely here! Fab amounts of sunshine, nice and warm, and altogether very 'summery'. Let's hope that it keeps going right through till October!

There was also the eclipse which at first glance seemed to be spoiled by an unusually thick fog. However, this worked to my advantage as it allowed me to get some fab shots. Here is one of the 100+ shots I took! This one was taken about 9:35 so at the height of the eclipse. It was eerily quiet and everything was bathed in a yellow glow.

Right, on to the matter in hand, my inspirational make for Visible Image. I have been reading a lot about this tissue technique just lately. Well, let me tell you I have been doing it for ages! I stumbled across it purely by accident when I placed a very wet and inky piece of kitchen roll onto a piece of card by mistake. Initially I was annoyed at the waste of the piece of card but quickly realised that it was actually a good use of the inky tissue!

This little book is made form a piece of card which had a soggy wet inky tissue laid out on it, I intended to use the tissue for another project so I had opened it out to dry quicker. I was doubly pleased as the card it was lying on ended up with some beautiful staining.

All in all a very pleasing result I think. I am crazy about making these little books at the moment, they take a little while but make a change from my other current project, my ATC365 which is a quick 30 minute project once a day. These books give me something to get involved in.

As always, the following images link directly to the Visible Image online shop and underneath are all the links you need to see more of the fab stuff Visible Image and the Design Team do!

ATC365 #79 ECLIPSE

How could I pick a random word for my ATC today?
It was obvious from the start that I was going to use the word
ECLIPSE
for my project today.

I did make the ATC today but the word was already pencilled in.

Am I forgiven?

The ATC I made this afternoon has a bit of movement to it,
it is an interactive ATC!

I will let the pictures explain!

The circle stamps are from Visible Image.

Been a fab day, here is a real photo from the 100+ I took!

and a timeline one

See you tomorrow for another ATC.

ATC365 #78 PANEL

Hm, a strange word today which had me stumped for a while.

PANEL

I looked through my bits 'n' bobs box for inspiration and found just the thing!

Hurray!

Background is Shimmer mister, quite likely Tattered Angels,
which I stamped with black embossing powder.

The panel is black UTEE which I stamped into while still melted.
I used silver gilding wax to bring out the features.

And because I found one when looking through my bits box,
I coloured a skeleton leaf black and then used gilding wax on there also.

Happy Days!

Oh! Eclipse tomorrow morning. If I get any decent pictures I shall show you.

ATC365 #77 DANCE

Lovely sunny day here! Still a little cold on the un-gloved fingers but overall a beautiful day!

Word for today is DANCE.

I was listening to my iPod when an old favourite came on,
so no guesses for where I went with the ATC for today!

Only a couple of days to go until the eclipse so quite a good word today!
Are you sure this random generator is actually random???

Happy Days!

ATC365 #76 - INSTINCT

Hello! Day 76 of my little personal challenge.
Still not lost the enthusiasm to do this which is good.

Today I have the word INSTINCT. Only one way to go with that then!

This great stamp by Visible Image is perfect.

A remnant of Brusho coloured card as the background.
Black embossing for the sentiment and just Archival ink for the butterflies.

See you again tomorrow for another ATC.

Happy Days!

ATC365 #75 BERRY

Hello again! How are we all today?
Weather is looking a bit better today, the daffs are up and smiling!

Today Mr Generator presented me with the word BERRY
and I took the liberty of making that plural.

Here is my ATC for today. Hope you like?

Touch of distressing around the edges, haven't done that for ages. I noticed last month with my collage that there was one ATC that really stuck out, it had a cream background. I know I should just make something 'in the moment' but I don't want to spoil my monthly collage with another glaring white card again.

So this started life as a plain white piece of watercolour card. I simply stamped the images using a black archival ink and then water coloured the elements. All the elements are individual stamps so there was a bit of masking going on. I added some visual texture with a linen stamp and the distressing followed swiftly on from that.

Back again tomorrow with another ATC.
Happy days!

Marvellous Monday with Visible Image

Bore da! Or if you're reading this a little later Prynhawn da! Either way, nice to see you here again.

Today my post for Visible Image shows how you can make a great card using just a couple of stamp and a sentiment. OK, sometimes it is good to go 'all out' and stamp until your hands are aching, but other times it is just about that one image.

You know I love butterflies? Well I do, and this stamp from the INKognito range is just a dream to have in my collection.

Better show you the card I think before I forget!

I started by making my background. This is wet Brusho painted onto white card. I deliberately kept away from the edges this time so that the stamping round the edge would show up more. I really like the places where the paint brush marks show.

I stamped the INKognito butterfly first and then added the traditional butterfly over the top. I used the trailing splodges from the wing of the butterfly around the edge. I used wet Brusho paint as the 'ink' for the stamp just painting it directly onto the stamp. I then used a darker mix for the other butterfly image. It's neat how they fit perfectly. Was this a happy accident or did they do it on purpose? I wonder!

The sentiment is stamped in white embossing powder. I love the font, that old typewriter style. Lovely. I very nearly used the same blue again but as I knew I was going to stamp slightly over the butterfly wing, I decided to do it in white so it didn't get lost. Such a good decision!

Here are the picture links for the stamps I used and don't forget to check out all the other DT blogs and Facebook pages.

ATC365 #74 STORM

Hello ATC followers! Quick jump in and out again I'm afraid.

Mr Generator didn't know it was Mother's Day so he can be forgiven for the choice of word!

Brusho background with a bleached tree, which I think looks like lightning and black embossed flower silhouette.

Another tomorrow!

ATC365 #72 STAR

OK, no prizes for guessing what the word is today!
Mr Generator gave me STAR tonight.
Yes tonight! I have been busy all day doing stuff!

Here we are then, my STAR for today.

The piece of card was coloured originally with Dylusions Sprays.
I stamped some small stars and then added the lines in between them.
The big star was stamped and embossed in black.
Bit of white doodling on the background stars.

Back again tomorrow.

Happy Days!

ATC365 #71 HOPE

Oh dear! What happened to the weather?
Mind you some good things have happened today
which makes the weather seem unimportant!
Let's just say developments!

Here is the ATC for today, the word being HOPE.

There were some little scraps of coloured card lying around and I fancied just spelling it out today.
Stamped, cut out and stuck on!
I also dug out some of my teeny-tiny stamps to add some more visual interest to the letters.

See you again tomorrow for another ACTC365.

Happy Days!

ATC365 #70 FOAM

Good evening!

Today Mr Generator gave me the word FOAM.
Instantly knew which stamp to use!

This ATC is made up using a selection of stamps from the Revolution set by VISIBLE IMAGE.

I used black embossing powder for the horse and white for the foam over a background which had been coloured with turquoise Brusho and stamped with one of the little decor stamps in the set.

See you tomorrow for another in the ATC series.

Happy Days!

MOO MANIA & MORE - CHICKENS

New challenge with Moo Mania & More. The theme this time is CHICKENS

Here is my inspirational piece.

The chickens look a bit 'gangster' with those eyes!

Please feel free to make whatever you like for the challenge, that is why it is called '& MORE'

I look forward to seeing what you make!

ATC365 #69 - ENERGY

Hello everyone! Beautiful sunny day here! Hope you have had a good day?

Straight on with the ATC as I want to go and enjoy some more of the sunshine while I can.

A piece of lightly coloured card which I stamped with a swirl design in black.
I then found a stamp with the word ENERGY, which is of course the word for today!

Stamped the sentiment, chopped it up and then mounted on white card.

Added a bit of extra colour in and around some of the swirls
and used 3 black brads to give a bit more interest.

Simple but pretty I think. What do you think?

Happy Days! Kim x

ATC365 #68 - ACORN

Hello! Got the word ACORN today from Mr Generator. I love these stamps by Tim Holtz. My only gripe is that I think this is upside down! But the words are the right way up so there we are. Could have cut the word 'acorn' out and turned it over I suppose.

Now I suspect the background is coloured using Tattered Angels glimmer mist. It has a shimmer to it and it is a really old piece of card, thick heavy watercolour card. I haven't had any of that for a long time!

Bit of bleaching and then some colour added using Brusho paints.

Back again tomorrow with another ATC for you. Happy days! Kim xx

Marvellous Monday with Visible Image

Hello again! It's been a changeable week weather wise here in Wales but spring is definitely here! The snowdrops are out, daffs are opening and the sun has been shining more and more.

This week I want to show you a project I did using the lovely melty clock from the new range of stamps by Visible Image.

The clock itself is a fantastic stamp but the sentiment that comes with it is perfect for all sorts of occasions.

I started the piece with a Brusho coloured background in green, turquoise and purple. When this was dry I brushed lightly over the whole piece with some Gesso keeping the brush as dry as possible and barely touching the paper. It lightens the colour and gives a worn look, a bit like faded denim. It also gives a great key to the embossing powder!

Once the Gesso was dry I took the polka dot stamp and dipped it in some liquid Brusho, spritzed the stamp with more water and stamped it onto the background. I left it in place so that the paint drained onto the page.

I then stamped the clock directly onto the background and embossed it with black powder. I stamped the sentiment onto a separate piece of card.

The piece of card was torn to size and then layered up on more torn card in similar colours.

ATC365 #66 POSTCARD

Nice word for today Mr Generator! POSTCARD.
Of course I could have done anything but as I am living the seaside life now
I decided on a seaside themed postcard.

A piece of Brusho painted background and a stamped on white card,
coloured and cut out main image.

See you again tomorrow for another ATC. Happy days! Kim xx

ATC365 #65 - ROSE

Hello! Another reasonably early one from me today.

The lovely Mr G presented me with the word ROSE today. Nice!

I had a huge choice of stamps and words to suit this theme.

My first thought was to use some pieces of card I decorated many years ago.
Yes YEARS!
I had used a rolled up piece of kitchen towel to make the rose buds.

The stamp was added and coloured with Brusho paints.

Right, I'm off again to do some more proper work.
Making ATCs doesn't pay the rent!

See you tomorrow for another in the series. Gosh! #65 already. Only another 300 hundred to go!

Happy days !
