SAD and HAPPY at the same time - FUN WITH ATCs CHALLENGE #100

I was quite sad to read that this challenge from Fun with ATCs is to be the last. I have only been taking part for the last 10 or so and really looked forward to them.

Anyway, my mind started to think about their brief for this 100th challenge which oddly enough was the number 100. Instantly I thought of 100 ATCs and then realised that was a big ask. With another special project on the go with a deadline of next week I felt that was pushing my limits a bit. I then thought I would look back at the ATCs I had done and that was when it struck me.

Teeny tiny weeny ATCs! Even better, replicas of the ones I had made for the challenge!

Oh My Goodness was this a fun challenge! And I think it worked!

I couldn't fit them all on so I started with #95. Check back on my blog to see the full size ATCs for these challenges, but here is a shot of them together with this 100th ATC which shows just how small the replicas are!

It was fun doing this ATC and doing the challenges! I will miss you 'Fun with ATCs'.

Check out the other entries and the great inspirational ATCs from the DT.

As always it is great to read your comments.

Happy crafting! Kim xx

FUN WITH ATC's - Challenge #99 - NIGHT

I thought I would leave this blog until tonight HALLOWEEN but I made this ATC a few days ago. It is for the Fun with ATC's challenge which this time has the theme NIGHT.

I used one of my favourite stamps in one of my favourite ways, a silhouette against a moon!! Anyway, I used 2 roughly cut circles of tracing paper for the moon. I like the rough edges and the layers.  I stamped onto the black card with clear embossing medium and used a silver pearl, a hematite, and a black embossing powder on each of the images.  This worked well but when I started to use some gilding wax around the edges I thought I would add a little to the embossed seed heads as well.

I used the NIGHT part of a Christmas stamp, SILENT NIGHT, as a banner across the bottom held on with 2 lovely square metal brads.

Pop over to the challenge blog and see the other entries and the lovely DT examples. Have a go yourself!

Need to keep it short as I have some haunting to do!

See you all on the other side of midnight!

FUN WITH ATC - #98 - 3 STAMPS

Hello! My has it been a busy few days. Craft room tidy up nearly at an end, thank goodness! I am starting to get withdrawal symptoms from not actually crafting!

Fun with ATCs has a new challenge today, the theme is 3 Stamps. I did think about being very literal with my choice of stamps by using 3 stamps of stamps but felt that this would be too simple. So I set about looking through my stamp library and got stuck in the section featuring Travel elements (do you think I need a holiday?)

I wasn't sure what colour inks to use but I knew that I wanted to use some brown card stock. Now that is a laugh because the card I used was rescued from the recycling bin as I couldn't get to my 'card stock' due to the upheaval!!

Now I may have broken the rule slightly but I actually used 4 different stamps. There are the 3 obvious feature stamps; the ticket, the time table and the stamps, but I also used the corner stamp from Ageing Beautifully by Sheena Douglass to mess up the corners of the base card a bit. Because I had come across a box of hitherto forgotten embellishments I felt duty bound to use them to add more interest.

And there we have it! An ATC featuring 3 stamps.  Hope you like it? Why not head over to the Fun with ATCs blog and see all the DT samples and the other entries? Why not have a go yourself?

One more day should see the craft room back to full working order. I just hope that I can find everything!!

It would be nice now that you are here to leave me a comment, I love reading them.

Maybe a Little Too Simple?

Fun with ATCs have a new challenge out today with the theme Clean & Simple. Nice theme especially as I am really pushed for time at the moment. Check out the other entries HERE and why not have a go at your own ATC?

This is taking the theme to the limits. It is 'clean' in that the base card is the most dominant feature, and it is 'simple'. I used a lovely stamp from Lavinia Stamps, a touch of ProMarker to give a shadow and Sharpie black for the edges. End of.

Short and sweet! Have a nice evening. Kim xx

PS Your comments are great to read, please let me know that you have visited. x

STRIPES - ATC Challenge #96

Another challenge in the Fun With ATCs series today, STRIPES. I have to say that I love the themes these guys come up with, so random and thought provoking. My first task was to find a stamp that was mainly stripes. I knew I had the one I ended up using, but I wondered if anything else could be made into stripes, but nothing leaped out at me mostly because of the restraints of the size of an ATC. 'That is why it is called a challenge!'

So, here we have my offering, bold black stripes on a lime green background, Glimmer Mist I think. I found the piece of card in my box of bits so can't be 100% sure what it was coloured with. Just for some irony I stamped the word STRIPES using my circle alphabet and placed a lovely round sun on the card!

Hope you like it? It would be nice to hear from you, so please leave a comment.

Go check out the other entries and the DT samples.

Have a lovely day!  Kim xxxx

ATC - Something to do while I wait.

I am in limbo at the moment. Not enough time to get really 'into' a project but just enough time to do a little tinkering. I work late shifts in the week and find that having to get ready for work at 6pm gets in the way of major crafting on those days!

Anyway, I was pleased to see that the Fun With ATCs listed their challenge #95 so I hurried over to see what the theme was. Great! Another challenge that is almost 'Anything Goes'. I say almost because it is colour themed so I can use any of my stamps, dies, techniques, ideas, and still fit in with the challenge.

Black/White/Red is the theme. Crisp, clear colours and easily dealt with in my opinion. As is tradition I took my folder, which contains a stamped image of every single one of my stamps, down from the shelf and began to thumb through the images. I have them in themes, and first is FLORAL. Didn't take me long to select the stamp I wanted to use. It didn't take me long to decide on the design either which is such a bonus.

And here it is......

A die cut butterfly, a word, some torn paper ribbon, a couple of gems and there she is!! Look, you can tell it is fresh, the glue around the big gem is still wet!

It is now my tea time, a quick intake of calories before heading off to work till 2am. Don't worry, it's what I do and I actually really love my job.

Go see all the other B/W/R ATCs HERE. I'm going to add mine, why not have a go and add yours there to?

Please leave a comment, I love getting them.

ATC - A Break from the Housework

Yes, I know that I have been here far too many times already but I simply couldn't resist another challenge. This time I felt compelled to have a go at an ATC. Remember them? Anyway, the challenge comes from Fun with ATCs. It is a fortnightly challenge and this is mid-way so plenty of time to get your own one done.

This fortnight they have asked for challenges featuring Die Cuts. Now I don't own many cutting dies, but when I saw this one from Simon Says Stamp a few months ago I knew I had to have it. It has of course sat in my box of dies until today not having been used other than to test it out when it arrived. This is the way of impulse purchases for me. One click of the mouse and a whole host of 'stuff' comes through my letter box because I must have it and then spends a long time just waiting to be used.

So lucky die, today is your chance to shine.

I used a piece of hand coloured paper (I like ATCs 'cos you can use those 'too nice to throw away' pieces of paper) which I sent off thru' the cutter. I knew the die was too big but that was what I was going for. I then spent a few minutes running through my stamp library for a suitable stamp and found this one which was exactly the right size. I embossed it in white onto a piece of black card. I then embossed the same stamp onto the opposite corner in black. Using a Sheena Douglass stamp from the the set Ageing Beautifully, I then added some script around the edges. A bit of Tim Holtz distress ink around the edge to finish it all off.

And there we have it. What makes me giggle is that the blog took longer to write than the ATC did to make.

Have a great week. Oh and don't forget to come back soon to see yet another sneak peak at the new Sheena Douglass stamps that are being launched this Thursday on Create and Craft TV.

If you visit me here please be kind enough to leave a comment.
