Marvellous Monday with VISIBLE IMAGE

Hello all you lovely people! Good to see you again!

The guys at Visible Image have had a busy few weeks.

First there was the Create & Craft show where they launched the
new MDF Monoliths as well as the new stamps.
Both proved very popular!

Visible Image - Monoliths

Then they had to get all the pre-orders out of the new stamps.

And then there was the Trade Show this weekend.

If you get the chance pop over to the other DT blogs
and see what we have been up to with all the fab new stuff!

From me this week is a piece using the amazing cassette stamp.
I love the pop art look and this stamp lends itself to this style really well.

I started by painting some white card with these zesty colours using Brusho paint and when it was dry I stamped and embossed the cassette image with black powder.

I based the size of the cassette squares on the final size of the sentiment and cut everything at an angle to add interest.

Black pen run around the edges before mounting
onto white card, then each piece was added to the base card.

Marvellous Monday with VISIBLE IMAGE

Hello!

How have you been since my last Visible Image posting?

Nearly at the end of January already! eeeek!

Today I have a jazzy little card for you using a fantastic silhouette of a sax player
as well as some of the brilliantly versatile background stamps.

As is usual for me I started colouring some white card with Brusho paints. I just love the zesty lime alongside the hot orange.

I used bleach - yep, bleach - with the plasma squiggle from the Universal set.

Visible Image stamps are made with top quality photopolymer and I haven't yet had any problem using bleach on them. I do still err on the side of caution and wipe my stamps straight away with a baby wipe and then after the crafting session I wash them in warm water before air drying and storing back in their pockets.

Anyway, squiggles done, I then used a blended ink pad in shades of green with the spotty plasma circle from the Universal set directly over the top.

Using black embossing powder I stamped the jazz player and the sentiment onto pieces of card that would contrast well when added to the background card.

Here are the stamp sets I used for this card.

Marvellous Monday with Visible Image

WOW! Another week has started!

Today I have a card for you as inspiration made using only Visible Image stamps.

I started with a Brusho coloured piece of card in shades of purple, lime and teal and added the really useful Bronte Script stamp using teal ink.

Just a hint of it stamped randomly but always level.

I added some splats in purple and teal.

When that was done I cut the piece down before sewing it to a
matting layer of cream watercolour card.

The tag was cut from another coloured piece of card but this time instead of the big purple splats I used the Live life Now sentiment.

Again I sewed this to a cream mount. Both these mounts were then roughed up along their edges.

I added some brads to the tag, my current favourite embellishment!

MARVELLOUS MONDAY with VISIBLE IMAGE

Oh what a glorious weekend it has been!

Sun, sea and sand by the bucket load, thank you Mr Weather!

Today I am showcasing a collection of cards I made using only Visible Image stamps.

I wanted to make a group of cards suitable to be given as a gift set and so I set about making several background papers first.

In my palette there was a lot of blue/green/purple Brusho paint which needed using up. I looked in my envelope drawer and found some blue envelopes which were the right size for my plans.

I don't often use white embossing powder but with the intense colour of the background paper I ended up with it seemed the perfect one to use.

For those that know how good Visible Image stamps are I don't need to tell you how deeply etched they are, how perfectly they stamp every time and just what fab designs there are!

For those of you who are new to Visible Image, er, just re-read the above!

As I said, I started by  making the background papers. I had great fun smooshing colour over some good quality white card stock. I use Brusho powder as a wet paint and just leave it to dry.

Next I used a dark blue ink to add the circles from the Universal set all over but not overlapping. Once this was completely dry I started adding the white embossed dotty-circles, again from the Universal set and also the larger one from the Plasma set.

The sentiments, which are from the Express Yourself range, were stamped onto card with none of the extra stamping on. It allows the words to stand while still being a perfect colour match.

All the elements were cut and mounted onto white card before being added to the blue card bases. The sentiment pieces were mounted using a dimensional glue to raise them from the page.

I know this is a stamp heavy project, but if you have these sets not only do you get great value for money, but you can also create a huge number of projects using different combinations of the stamps!

Marvellous Monday with Visible Image

Hello! And welcome to the start of another week!!

As you know I am totally addicted to Brusho Paints

and the card for today is another example of what you can achieve.

I have used one of my favourite Visible Image stamps,

the Gerbera from the INKognito range.

I first created the background using turquoise and lime green paints

before stamping the flower and the sentiment from the new Express Yourself range

using white embossing powder.

Marvellous Monday with Visible Image

What a fabby weekend it was! Sun, sun and more sun!

For my Visible Image DT piece today I have a very bright and strawberry coloured card for you featuring one of the lovely flower silhouettes from the More Than Words range.

I first painted a piece of card with liquid Brusho in red and orange shades. When it was completely dry I stamped and embossed the flower with clear embossing powder all over the card.

This sealed in the colour under the flowers so when I painted the whole thing over with bleach it took away the colour from the exposed areas.

The sentiment was stamped onto a piece of the same card but this time I used bleach to stamp the flower head giving a more subtle effect so the sentiment stood out clearly. The sentiment was stamped with black embossing powder.

Thank You Set

Marvellous Monday with Visible Image

Another week begins and you know what that means? Yep!

Another inspirational blog from me for Visible Image.

How often do I tell you about how wonderful these stamps are? Well, I'm going to tell you again! They are fantastic! Made from a high quality photopolymer, these stamps are all hand poured, hand cut, packed with love and care and they perform bloomin' marvellously!!

I am reminded of this every time I get out the stamp I want to use! As long as you wash off any 'dodgy' product immediately, these stamps will last and last!

By 'dodgy' I mean things that extreme stampers will have a go at using things like bleach, gesso, polyfilla, anything wet in fact that might leave an impression! I always have a pot of water on the desk usually used to clean brushes but it is also where I drop my used stamps so they don't dry out!

Right, on to my project for today! I love using brown craft card especially with blue ink. Something about it. I like to team it with green sometimes and this is where I went with this project.

I mentioned Gesso earlier on, and I am a little obsessed with white inking on cards at the moment. White stamping ink isn't always very opaque and also there are times when I don't want to use white embossing powder. Gesso, or even acrylic paint, is the solution for me. I also like the texture it adds.

The card I made this week uses wet Brusho paint applied direct to the stamp. I used Lime Green and Prussian Blue, but Peeled Paint and Chipped Sapphire Tim Holtz distress inks would work just as well as the colours are very similar.

Using Bronte script and ink splats I made the detailed background. Starting with the Brusho then moving on to the Gesso. The butterflies were done in the same way.

To make the sentiment stand out I used just the Brusho paint.

ATC365 #125 PARADISE

I have found it!

It might not be a tropical paradise but it is paradise non-the-less!

This was about an hour ago on my local beach.
Not a soul in sight and beautiful!

That's paradise right?

My ATC is a mini watercolour.
Gesso primed piece of card.
Brusho paint background and then a bit of stamping and colouring!

See you again tomorrow.

ATC365 #122 GOLD

An opulent word today

GOLD

so I went for opulent colours!

I had been playing with my fine nozzle glue on a piece of card.

I painted the whole thing with white gesso
before staining with Brusho paint
and using gilding wax to pick out the raised detail.

Reminds me of my cake decorating days!

Simple gold embossed flower and the word GOLD repeat stamped on a banner.

See you again tomorrow.

Marvellous Monday with Visible Image

Hello to you all, what a fantastic week we have had here in Pembrokeshire weather wise. I have spent a lot of time in the garden weeding, planting and generally making things look nice. I have loved every minute! That is saying something coming from someone who used to enjoy being in a neat garden but hated working on it!

And what an exciting weekend for our Visible Image group! Competitions and flash prizes! Well done to the winners! If you would like to see what they created and their prizes then go to the link at the bottom of the blog and join the group!

Right so my make for today is a card I made using just a sentiment and the Harlequin stamp. A classic example of the stamps doing the work so there really is no need for embellishments!

I started by washing a piece of watercolour card with warm tones of colour using Brusho paints. A pinch of the powder mixed with a drop of water goes a long way! The colours were blended while wet.

Left to dry for as long as possible, I usually do this the day before. Next I took the Harlequin stamp, sprayed it with water and then stamped it onto the painted card. Using a sheet of kitchen roll I then mopped up the moisture and repeated this over the whole sheet keeping the images in line with one another. I then splattered water over the piece of card and again mopped up the water with kitchen roll.

I used white embossing powder with the sentiment stamp and layered it on white card before mounting it on the card base.

3 faux gems add a little bit of sparkle at the corner.

Marvellous Monday with Visible Image!

Hello followers! And a warm welcome to any new visitors.

Today I am showcasing one of the
 incredibly versatile stamps from the
Visible Image EXPRESS YOURSELF range.
This one is from the This is Me set.

I have used an embossing folder on this one with a bark effect.

Started as always by creating the background. This involved Brusho, when doesn't it these days? I used a little of the powder colour mixed with a little water and painted it onto a good quality watercolour card. When it was dry I used the tip only of a broad flat headed brush to add little strands of orange and green. It reminds me of saffron in a way.

I then passed the dry piece of card through the embosser using a tree bark texture plate. Afterwards I swiped a clear embossing ink over the raised areas and embossed using clear powder. It makes the texture show up more.

In keeping with the texture on the background I used a little corrugated strip with a faux buckle to add interest.

The sentiment was stamped on piece of card which had been coloured with the same shades of Brusho but in an ombre way which was then splashed with water.
