Another week begins and you know what that means? Yep!
Another inspirational blog from me for Visible Image.
How often do I tell you about how wonderful these stamps are? Well, I'm going to tell you again! They are fantastic! Made from a high quality photopolymer, these stamps are all hand poured, hand cut, packed with love and care and they perform bloomin' marvellously!!
I am reminded of this every time I get out the stamp I want to use! As long as you wash off any 'dodgy' product immediately, these stamps will last and last!
By 'dodgy' I mean things that extreme stampers will have a go at using things like bleach, gesso, polyfilla, anything wet in fact that might leave an impression! I always have a pot of water on the desk usually used to clean brushes but it is also where I drop my used stamps so they don't dry out!
Right, on to my project for today! I love using brown craft card especially with blue ink. Something about it. I like to team it with green sometimes and this is where I went with this project.
I mentioned Gesso earlier on, and I am a little obsessed with white inking on cards at the moment. White stamping ink isn't always very opaque and also there are times when I don't want to use white embossing powder. Gesso, or even acrylic paint, is the solution for me. I also like the texture it adds.
The card I made this week uses wet Brusho paint applied direct to the stamp. I used Lime Green and Prussian Blue, but Peeled Paint and Chipped Sapphire Tim Holtz distress inks would work just as well as the colours are very similar.
Using Bronte script and ink splats I made the detailed background. Starting with the Brusho then moving on to the Gesso. The butterflies were done in the same way.
To make the sentiment stand out I used just the Brusho paint.
