ATC365 #64 - MESSAGE

All I can say is thank goodness I managed to sort out the glitch that happened last night! I had a horrible feeling I had been infected with some sort of virus! I was about to go into meltdown when I noticed a suspicious program had somehow installed itself. I am not a geek where computers are concerned but once I spotted this little 'gem' it was a doddle getting shot of the beggar! Crisis averted! And don't ever come back!!

Today required an early start and so I was able to get my ATC done before lunch. The word for today is MESSAGE. Nice simple word for a change, thank you Mr Generator!

I used a piece of green/yellow Brusho coloured card and a very lovely stamp of an old fashioned typewriter. Black embossing powder and white highlighter ink.

I also used the funky thumb print stamp from Visible Image to break up the background a bit.

Hands up all that remember playing secretary with your little Petite typewriter? And do you remember those inked ribbons they used? What a mess! Anyway enough with the nostalgia!

Right, still a good part of the day left so I need to crack on with some important work! See you tomorrow for another ATC in my 365 day challenge!

Happy Days!

ATC365 #63 CARVED

Hello! Bit of an issue a little while ago with the original post. Hopefully, with fingers firmly crossed it is all over now!

Right, today I got the word CARVED from Mr Generator.

I did some hand carved stamps a few years back and it has been good to get them out and have a look at them again. I might even have more of a play in the next few days!

Here we are then a simple black embossing powder image on a Brusho background. Simple but effective I think.

It is now much later than I wanted it to be!.
I had a busy day in the garden so off to bed it is for me!

See you tomorrow for another ATC.
Happy Days!

ATC365 #62 - PATIO

Hello! No too late today. Seem so busy doing other things. But I am still making here every day to do this ATC365.

Today I have the word PATIO. Now a quick glance onto my patio and I see logs, a bag of clippings, a wheelbarrow, watering can and a cute little cast iron patio set. And there we have it! My design is taken directly from real life today! Obviously minus the bag of clippings and the logs! All jumbled upside down and sideways but it is art my dear! Plus I wanted to get everything on the ATC!

Back again tomorrow with another ATC for you. Happy Days! Kim x

ATC365 - #61 SKYLINE

Short and sweet tonight. I've been very busy with another project.
So Mr Generator gave me the word SKYLINE.

I had a lovely scrap of paper just the right size left over from a project I am currently working on and I have several stamps similar to the one I picked featuring rows of buildings. I opted for this one as it fits the ATC nicely.

Right, I am off back to the craft cave for more inky fun!

Catch you tomorrow!

Happy Days! Kim x

Marvellous Monday with Visible Image

Hello! Welcome back to all you regular readers of the blog but a MAHOOOSIVE welcome to any new readers today! It is such a privilege to do what I do and I love letting other people know all about the fab stamps that Visible Image let me play work with!

All the links to the Visible Image website, blog, challenges, etc can be found at the bottom of this post  or in the banner on the right. Also over on the left, yes, there, you will see links to the other DT members blogs. We publish all through the week, each one of us on a different day, hopefully inspiring you to get creative with your Visible Image stash. Each DT member creates something using stamps from the range of their choice and using their own techniques. So whether you like CAS work, full on embellished pieces, cards, paint, inks, sprays, there is always something different going on with Visible Image.

Today I am showing you a useful project in the form of a gift bag. Now I used a gift bag board template. There are several on the market and there are also lots of How2s on YouTube telling you the steps to follow if you don't have a board template.

The main thing for this project is in the making of the patterned paper. I know I tell you this regularly, but making your own backgrounds is such fun, as well as meaning you have totally co-ordinated papers for your project!

I started with an A3 sheet of card. I coloured it with Brusho paints. Check out YouTube for some inspiring techniques. This piece required lots of watery splotches. I mixed Brusho powder with water to make a wash in the 3 colours I wanted to use. You only need a small amount of powder for this as it's quite potent stuff! You can always make more! I will show you in the How2 I'm planning OK? I will make time this week to do it.

Once dry I took the large squiggle and small squiggle, and stamped them all over the page using inks in shades of green and blue. The stamps are officially called Plasma (the large one) and Universal (the smaller one from 6 piece set) but squiggle works for me.

I made the tag and added the sentiment which is from the Be Happy set in the Express Yourself collection which I have embossed in black.

All the stamp images I used below are 'click to link' so you can have a look in more detail on the Visible Image website.

ATC365 #60 - DIAL

Here we are again, and it's a new month. Today is #60 in my ATC365 project. Mr Generator came back into play today after my brief slip off the rails yesterday.

He provided me with the word DIAL. Could have done sundial, telephone dial, but I decided to venture into the Orient today. This I think is a Feng Shui compass. Could be wrong but I am pretty sure it is.

A simple ATC, Brusho coloured background with black embossing powder for the stamp and word. I also used a small character stamp to add interest to the background.

ATC365 #59 - SPECIAL DAY

Today I rebelled! I wanted to make this and so I ignored Mr Generator! Sorry to disappoint you all but sometimes a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!

Today was a special day for me. Not going to say anymore. You know who you are and you know why it was a special day.

So, this is a piece made using UTEE and gilding wax. I first cut the heart from a piece of card freehand. I like this freestyle shape of heart better than the traditional, symmetrical one. I then layed on the UTEE and when it was still hot and liquid I stamped the paisley design into it. I then applied gilding wax to bring out the raised areas. Some faux red gems and voila!

The background is the same stamp as I used on the heart. I used gesso again which I then gilded because the gesso left a raised pattern.

Back again tomorrow for another ATC. And wow, it is March! Time to make the February collage.

Happy Days! Kim x
